Misery Loves Company.
What I cannot abide
Is whatever spuriosities I spout
You won’t take my side-
My righteous words I never doubt.
I don’t roughly ride
Over the husbandly improvements you tout,
I hide my wounded pride
Behind folded arms and surly pout.
Lord knows I’ve tried
Laughing off all you witter about,
If you’d only shut up I’d
Have no need to shout.
‘Goodbye’ said my bride,
She cried ‘it’s over, I’m out,’
…Now it’s so lonesome inside
My strong silent empty redoubt.

Too many men, I fear,
Would rather drink beer
Than say, “Yes, dear.”
But why should you have to choose?
Be both a “Yes” man and drink booze!
Except your life or your wife, what’s there to lose?

Wise words Mr Muse. However for my young pup I imagine, too late.
‘I possess that macho male XY chromosome
Yet the fairer sex is mucho cleverer, I fear ,
‘Tis she who’s legally entitled to our happy home,
And I’ve just talked myself right out of here.’

Meanwhile, on the soundtrack, Spandau Ballet is singing “Communication (Brings Me Down)”. Because, really, it all comes down to early-80s new wave music. Everything went to shite after that… 😉

Yep, synthesizers in moderation can make everything better. I do kind of like the idea of a soundtrack per occasional post. Songs have inspired one or two of mine. Hmmmm….
