Captain Tom Moore, 100 years old, his duty is now done.

Last Parade.

It's been a grim grey February day,
Captain Tom Moore has faded away,
Sir Tom inspired us all by soldiering on,
But age has slowed him and now he's gone.

He raised our spirits in our darkest hour,
Now he's been elevated by a higher power,
A centurion who didn't stand by and idly talk,
Even with his walker Sir Tom walked the walk.

    1. Its a cruel life at times. He walked , raised funds for the NHS to fight Covid- I guess that must make Boris the Benevolent so proud- had a brief moment in the sun and dies of Covid because he had pneumonia. God has a warped sense of humour.

  1. A WWII hero AND a Covid hero who sadly succumbed after raising a nation’s spirits through his final year. A truly great man.
There was a national clap for him at 6pm tonight. We went outside and clapped. Nobody else appeared… 😦

    1. I find the fact only you and your sig/other went out at six and stood on your todd sad. I may be a cynic, but what does it take to shake people out of their torpor? All you need is to take a few steps, stand on the steps and clap! Ugh, humanity. But well done to you, and I mean it.
